I forgot to post our pictures from Mt. Vernon, IL so here it is.






Well we made our goal of getting to Macon, GA. This was the day the kids got a real taste of the humidity and heat. It was so nice to be outside at 10pm and it still be 80 degrees. Then wake up at 6am to the same weather. We were pretty wiped out and ready for bed but managed to drag out butts over to Outback and have a nice dinner. We were very excited for the next day to come because 6 hours later we were going to finally be at Alan's. Greg and I have had enough of driving and both of us were falling asleep, so we stopped a few more times than Morgan would have liked as she was chomping at the bit to get to her dad's house. We arrived at 3:30 this afternoon and the kids got the first taste of the Florida air. They loved it and they loved being out of the car. It was 90 here and sprinkling so the humidity was around 95%. Not so good for the guys as they were unloading Alan's stuff from the trailer. So with soaked shirts and gallons of water later they were done and we got our first chance to visit and hang out. It was our intention to stay at a hotel tonight before going on into Fort Myers, but Monti and Alan talked us into staying the night here. They are great hosts; Alan cooked us steaks and we swam in the pool to cool off. The kids got to play Rock Band with Alan and Greg and I got to relax. It's everything we hoped and more and we are very grateful to be here...finally!




Tomorrow we are going to head down to Fort Myers and find a house and hopefully get the truck unpacked and head to the beach in the next couple of days.



We love everyone and miss you all so much. We wish everyone could share in this great adventure with us personally and we can't wait for everyone to come and visit!
