Sunny with a chance of BBQ!

Funny how people come out of the woodwork the first sunny, relatively warm day of the season. Sunday was just such a day. You can hear people out walking in the neighborhood and kids playing on the school grounds behind our house. Birds chirping, dogs barking and look at all the buds on the trees. The tulips and irises are emerging in such glorious splendor.

Erica and family came over at noon. "We just needed to get out of the house, Mom". I know just the ticket! "Ady and Rylee can help me open up the outdoor kitchen, while you and Steve run to the store for hotdogs and brats. Let's BBQ!" So that's what we did. Erica and Steve brought the sports equipment, so while I was fixing the dogs, they played badmitton. (BTW, I found a spare shuttlecock by the swing set, how do you suppose it got way over there?) After yummy bbq'd brats and dogs, we all embarked on a rousing game of workup out on the back lawn. It's a good thing I had at least some miles running on the treadmill under my belt. It sure didn't take long for me to be sorely out of breath and panting like an old hound. Everyone got a chance to score at least a couple of times and much fun and laughter was had. What a gorgeous day! I love my family. I love my life and I hope you all enjoy such happiness!
