Pumpkin Liner...
Ady says, "I've never been on a train, Grandma." "You haven't? Well, I just happen to know where one is, and I've been wanting to go on it for a looonnngg time."
Chet, Great Grandma and I rode in our car while the Lester's followed out through Emmett and up Black Canyon past the dam and on to Horseshoe Bend. It was a beautiful sunny fall day. Not too cold and no wind. There was a little color changing going on, not quite what we were hoping for, but it was a spectacular day.
We all boarded the train at Horseshoe Bend and rode along the Payette River up to Banks. Once we made Banks, everyone detrained and began the meticulous search for that perfect pumpkin. Chet found the homemade ice cream and apple crisp served at the conductor's house. Everyone satisfied with their punkin' choices reboarded the train and settled in for the ride back. Chet and the girls decided to brave the open air car for a bit. It was lots of fun, but a bit chilly. They were soon back in the bar car with the rest of us for something refreshing.
What a great way to spend a gorgeous Sunday afternoon!
