Fishing at Strike Dam

June 27th Chet and I decided to get away from the house for a bit, so we loaded up the motorhome and went down to Strike Dam for a little fishing and r&r. Fishing for Chet and r&r for me!


The fishing was a bit frustrating for him in the beginning, as the river bottom is nothing but rig eating rocks! But, he persisted and started catching a few here and there. Nothing really to speak of. There were many crappie, but nothing worth the effort of cleaning.






No problem for me, I'll just hang out and watch the Pelicans. Actually, I didn't realize we had Pelicans. So, I was quite fascinated. They are thieving little creatures. They just hung around and waited for the other birds, seagulls and such, to catch a fish and then they chased them until they dropped their fish and the pelicans scooped it up and ate it.




















It was pretty comical to watch and a heck of a lot more fun than doing house chores!
