I decided to take a photo tour around the place last night. I know mom loves to see how things are doing...So this is for you, Mom :o)
Chet takes a much deserved break after modifying and installing the first fan. Now that he has it down, he will be installing two more. They may look like aircraft propellers, but they sure move that air around. I've requested one over the outdoor kitchen.
The "maters" are looking good, although these are 4th of July variety and should have been ripe by now. With the long cold spring, I had a hard time finding plants that were big enough to produce fruit by the 4th. Oh well, we will enjoy them soon. I just doused them with Miracle Gro, that should do it!
If any of you know Chet at all, you know his love for watermelon! He mentioned a couple of times he might like to grow some, so this year I bought him 2 "Sugar Baby" plants. They seem to be doing just fine. He does have to keep them away from the lawn mower, but melons we have!
And no tour around the farm is complete of course, without images of the posies mom loves so much. I want you to notice the "Gooseberry" bush thriving among the flowers. Wendy gave me that last year and it must love it's new home. Even with getting it's nose frost bit this spring, it has luscious berries on it. Love it!
This year Wendy and Andy gave us this Tropical plant for the new patio. If I could remember the name of it, I would surely tell you. It is in the Bouganvilla family. I will have to take it inside to winter, that should be fun. At least I can prune it first.
We did get a visit from a hummingbird since this new plant arrived. They have been missing since we had to dig up all the Honeysuckle and Clematis to install the new patio. So, I'm going to hang the new feeder the girls got me for Mother's DAy.
