I should have been taking photos, but I was just too busy. Warren came on Saturday to do the leveling. There were times I wasn't sure what he was leveling, the house maybe? Warren is pretty conscientious about his work, so I wasn't too concerned. However, he did manage to cut through the phone line. Not his fault really, we didn't call digline for him. We are hoping the patio will be poured by Wednesday and the new air conditioner set by Friday, just in time for the 30 degree temperature drop for Memorial weekend of course. It has been almost unbearable in the house without a/c and the fact the patio cover is no longer there and the western sun is blasting in the back of the house. But, it is all going to be soooo worth it! I'm so excited about having the new and improved deck for the summer. My new outdoor kitchen components will arrive on Wednesday! Yahoo! Gonna be sooo much fun!
I did manage to get the fish pond all nice and sparkly clean on Friday, with the help of my oh so sweet husband. That is a job I wouldn't wish on anyone, and I sure did appreciate all his hard work, and I think the fish did too. We only had the large orange koi and one of the little black babies left this spring. We believe a heron got the other 2 koi last year. The little black fish was sure excited to have some friends his own size. I'm not so sure they were excited about coming face to face with the big orange one. Anyway, it's sure looking pretty now. I love it in the morning when the sun just comes across the top of the water and reflects on the wall of the shed.
I almost forgot to get tomato plants this year. What was I thinking? I guess that I wish it would stop snowing sometime soon. After it finally quit snowing it seemed to have turned into August! I must be really late or there just isn't much for tomato plants in the stores yet. But, I bought 3 not so large plants in varieties I haven't tried before, so we'll see how it goes. I can't go through summer without fresh tomatoes. I also bought Chet some Sugar Baby watermelon plants to try. Anyone who knows Chet, knows what a freak he is for them. He had said he wanted to try growing them several times, so now's his chance! I need to put together some herb pots to sit on the new patio too. Nothing like fresh herbs for the new gourmet outdoor kitchen!
Thanks for listening!
