And so, Mom's new great adventure begins...
She and Bob just left for points south this morning. They will be spending the night in Ely, then heading to Pat's tomorrow. I believe they will stay a couple of days then load up for Green Valley. I must say, I'm a bit envious. I love great adventures.

We had a lovely birthday for her yesterday. Mom made chili, I made clam chowder and creamy chicken and wild rice soup. Melissa made creamy red pepper soup with crab. So we had 4 crockpots going with homemade soups and I grilled up some pastrami and turkey and ham and swiss and provolone (not all on the same roll) paninis. I've always wanted to make some. They turned out to be a hit too. What a great way to spend a rainy birthday! Krystina made the "better than sex" cake we all love, and boy was it! Kylie and Kevin showed up and we all ate and laughed and played and ate and laughed and ate and did I mention we ate? Whoo boy, we certainly blew our diets yesterday. I can't think of a better way to blow it.

Hope you had a happy birthday, Mom!

Mom will be back for the month of December and Bob will be flying up for Christmas.
Bob gets to wear the Santa hat this year!
