You all remember the deep dark cave of a kitchen we had? Straight from the '70's (yes, I know '70's retro is here, but not for me!)? We have talked about tearing it out for a long time. Mom and I finally tore it all out. Towanda!!! Nothing to do, but fix it now! Thank goodness Papa Chet was such a good sport about it. He did a fabulous job with the drywall and the electrical. Gotta love that man!
As you can see, we took the old flourecents down none too soon. This particular whole was burned all the way through the drywall to the insulation above. The other two lights also had burn damage.

It only took us 3 days to complete, but it will take another month to get all the drywall dust out of the house. What a mess!
But, as you can see it was all worth it! We absolutely love it!!! The photo just doesn't do it justice. You will have to come see for yourselves! You can bet there will be many more happy meals prepared in this kitchen.

I can honestly say that I am glad you guys finally did that. Nothing like trying to cook in a kitchen that felt like a cave. Good job guys I love it!
