Well the summer is coming to a close and we thought we would make one last effort to go out with a bang before the kids went back to school. Greg and I took Bryan and Morgan to see Raka in Lake Tahoe. We left early Thursday morning (Aug. 18th) and drove straight to Raka's house. Good thing we took the truck so the kids could watch movies! We rounded the bend about 4pm that afternoon to meet Raka at her house. She proclaims she was working but I am sure she was playing instead. After the hugs and kisses we packed our stuff inside and spent the first hour comparing notes on our braces. All of us were pretty pooped after the drive so we continued to sit and visit for awhile. Greg took a nap and I took a shower. Morgan began a jigsaw puzzle with Raka which ended up being the center of entertainment through the whole trip.
The next morning Greg was so wonderful and made us all biscuits and gravy for breakfast afterwards we headed to Squaw Valley to ride the tram and take the kids bungee jumping. That place never ceases to amaze me. Once at the top we all donned our ice skates and did a few laps around the Olympic rink. I am glad to say I only bit it once. We had to peel the kids off of the ice, I think they would have skated the whole night if we let them! After a few hours at Squaw we headed back to King's Beach, we decided to eat dinner at Gar Woods and enjoy the lake and a few libations. Later we headed back to the ranch to digest. We drove down to the tennis courts to hit some balls which was really nice. I think Greg is now addicted to tennis, he wants to play all of the time. After tennis we went hom and the kids went on bike rides with Waide and Raka.
Saturday morning was a bit slower going but we cooked breakfast and headed down to the lake for some fun in the sun! Raka had sand toys and float toys and the weather was just perfect. The kids swam and built sand castles and dug holes most of the day. I myself enjoyed the swimming and the sunning and visited with Raka. Waide proceeded to irritate the kids most of the day by chasing them around the beach. After the beach we headed home to make fajitas for dinner.
Sunday morning was the morning to get moving, according to Waide we had a schedule to keep and we were going to keep it. Another round of biscuits and gravy compliments of Greg and we were off on our bikes headed to the tennis courts. We decided to ride bikes over there. Not sure it was a good idea for me with the heat and the full belly I managed to lose my cookies along the path. Once we got there things were good and after waiting for a court for 10 mins we were on and playing. Morgan has decided that she loves it so much she wants to join a tennis team. After tennis it's time to bike back to the house and get our suits, time to hit the beach again. We spent another afternoon at the beach, lots more swimming and lots more digging in the sand. --Love the beach! Time to head home and bbq. Waide and Greg head to the store and get steaks and pork chops.
So that pretty much concludes our visit with the Hoyts. Up bright and early the next morning and head out of town. Little detour to Boomtown to grab some grub!
Mom so gracious put the pictures on a slideshow for all to see! Check it out:

Wowsers, sounds like lots of fun!
I'm so glad you had as much fun with Raka and Waide as we did. What a great place to hang out!
