Amanda Marie called last night. I spent about 40 lovely minutes on the phone with her. I had emailed her a couple of times to see if she was still in the country. She is stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. What a wonderful conversation we had. Amanda is one of the busiest people I know. She is working (F-15 Avionics Systems Tech), going to college and has applied for OTS (Officer Training School). I hope I'm getting all this right, it was a lot to remember. She is hoping to be accepted to Fighter Pilot training. If she is, Mt. Home is one of the few bases she could be stationed after her training. If she is accepted for this pilot training, she could also either become the fighter pilot or the WSO (Weapons Support Officer) who sits behind the pilot and fires off most of the weapons. We wish Amanda the best in achieving her goals and ambitions. She's certainly not lacking in hard work to get there!

For those of you who would like to send Amanda your family (she's a long way from home) support (drop a line, email, card etc.):

Oh my gosh, wouldn't that be nice if she was stationed in Mt Home for awhile.

Are we sure she is Michael Dean's daughter? What a great kid. I am so proud of her and her achievements. She is awe inspiring. I wish her the best and it would be so cool if she landed here!
